Murcia Region strengthens its position as a leading destination for international productions and welcomes a major new audiovisual investment hub

Murcia Region is consolidating its position as one of Spain’s most versatile and competitive territories for audiovisual production. Alongside the arrival of prominent national and international shoots, the Region now welcomes a strategic investment that will significantly elevate its role in the global entertainment industry.

A large-scale audiovisual investment project lands in Murcia

The Immersive group has chosen the city of Murcia to develop a digital and investment platform designed to attract major international productions and establish a fully-fledged audiovisual hub in the Region.

The initiative brings together strategic partners and entertainment-industry funds totalling more than €200 million, and includes:

  • The creation of up to 1,000 jobs over the next five years.
  • The installation of over 20,000 m² of Warner Bros equipment and production assets, through a direct alliance with its UK partners.
  • The launch of a large virtual production center located in the La Verdad building, supporting the future studio in Las Torres de Cotillas.
  • A collaborative ecosystem for technology, creative and audiovisual companies, backed by a next-generation digital platform with over 30 million active users.
  • The confirmed arrival of three international series set to film in Murcia Region next year.
  • The distribution of over 100,000 free Leoblocks licences for students, schools and entrepreneurs, plus 10,000 licences for professionals.

This project is supported by a European investment fund dedicated to channeling private capital and European banking resources into strategic technological projects in the Region of Murcia.

Recent productions reinforce the Region’s growing audiovisual momentum

This investment complements the arrival of major productions that have recently filmed in the Region, including:

  • “Valle encantado” (Atresmedia)
  • “Inmaculate” (international production)
  • “El correo”, the latest thriller by Daniel Calparsoro
  • Filming linked to “The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon”

Together, these developments confirm Murcia Region’s status as a “chameleon-like set”, capable of adapting to contemporary, historical, urban and natural filming environments.

Institutional commitment and international outlook

These initiatives are supported by strong collaboration with public administrations, as well as an agile and flexible environment that actively accompanies investment projects.

From Invest in Murcia Region, in collaboration with the Región de Murcia Film Commission, we continue working to position our territory as a first-class destination for national and international productions, strengthening a high-value industry with extraordinary growth potential.
